Happy Friday! What a fun day our class had today. Thank you for sending in all the pieces of fruit for our friendship salad. The children enjoyed contributing to the yummy treat. Each child made a friendship pin for another friend in our class. The pins were exchanged and worn with pride! We also enjoyed reading various poems about friendship and talked about what it means to be a good friend to others. Thanks to Jen Favalora for cutting up all the fruit for us to enjoy! Enjoy the photos! Hello families! It was a pleasure seeing so many of you at our Curriculum Night last week. I hope that you had an enjoyable and informative evening. I will be in touch with those who were unable to sign up for conferences in October at our get together. We are looking forward to our first Family Read this Friday, September 18th, from 2:45-3:15. A letter will be going home tomorrow to give you the details. Everyone is welcome! It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of our classroom community. Family Read will happen every month so no worries if you are unable to make it this Friday. Remember...picture day is also on Friday. Send in your order forms if you want to order pictures! Have a super week.
Wow! What a busy fun-filled time of year. The children are settling into school with our daily routines so nicely. You should be proud of their effort. This week we have introduced reading and writing workshop. The main goal of the beginning of the year is to develop the reading and writing stamina in the students. The class has been up to this challenge and are reading and writing independently for at least 15 to 20 minutes. We will continue to increase our stamina! Keep an eye out on homework that will begin on September 15th. I know the children are anxiously awaiting to come home and demonstrate what they have learned in school to you. Thank you for sharing your children with me each day.
