We had a fun-filled day! Thank you to Safina's mom for organizing such a fabulous costume party. Everything was perfect and we all enjoyed participating in the costume parade!
The children love to have partner reading time! They are learning how to "coach" each other when reading new texts by suggesting various reading strategies when their partners get stuck on a word. They are also encouraging them and giving them positive feedback! Thought you would want to see a sneak peek of partner reading time!
We have been studying various signs of fall. As scientists, the children have also been learning how their senses help them learn about the world around them. Today, we made delicious homemade applesauce. Using our sense of smell, we enjoyed the aroma of the apples cooking all day. Using our sense of taste, we enjoyed the yummy applesauce at the end of the day.
Our local fire fighters visited our school yesterday and spoke about fire safety!
Mr. Larson demostrated how to use a fire extinguisher to our students.
Today our school had a wonderful Cultural Arts program. Our presenter spoke about bullying. Speak to your child about what they learned about this important topic. Thanks to the PTO for sponsoring this informative program.
Our class loves to rap the doubles facts!
Thank you to all the family members who participated in our October Family Read! What a fabulous turn out! The children loved showing off their reading progress with all of you and also enjoyed listening to you read to them. We look forward to our November Family Read. Enjoy the snapshots below of our special time together.
