The students in our class have continued to do a magnificent job following the classroom and school rules. They have been kind and caring classmates to each other and help one another. Today, for our classroom reward, the children wanted Mr. Larson to visit our classroom and read a Thanksgiving book. Of course, Mr. Larson was thrilled. We loved the book that he read! We also enjoyed some yummy ice cream sandwiches afterwards. Thanks, Mr. Larson!
Math Time!
We have had lots of fun playing various math games as we explore our place value unit and making ten math facts. Keep an eye out at home. Some of these games will be sent for you to play. Thank you for reinforcing these important math skills and facts!
Tens go fish is so much fun to play!
Miss Craffey (a former Burr student) visited our classroom to observe for part of her college course. She is helping with a number chart puzzle by looking carefully at the numbers in the tens and ones.
The trading game is a hit during math time and helps reinforce the tens and ones.
Non-Fiction Reading
We have been reading non-fiction books in reading. The children have been learning the important steps of what to do in order to become super smart about non-fiction topics. The chart above is displayed in our classroom as a reference for the children.
